Sponsor our Chorus for Admin Expenses
Dear Sponsors,
Something our chorus has been wanting to do is to hire a Sign Language Interpreter for our live performances.
We want audience members who may struggle with hearing to be able to enjoy our shows as much as hearing people.
The cost for a sign language interpreter is about 60-75$ per hour.
The shows are usually 1 hour long (give or take)
and given that we are singing songs instead of giving a speech, there would have to be some extra time paid for, so that the interpreter would be able to study our repertoire to prepare for the performance and work out the details of what will be signed for moments of sound harmonies and for when different words may be sung at exactly at the same time
This would be something new not commonly done with singing choruses.
We hope that by being more inclusive for audience members we can perform for even more people (Senior homes, hospital fundraisers, and even provide a show for caregivers and the people in their care) and give everybody something to enjoy and feel connected.
